Teynampet bomb case: 4 surrender in Madurai court

Four suspects in the Teynampet country bomb case surrendered before a magistrate court in Madurai on Thursday. The police have been tight-lipped about the details of the investigation even after 48 hours since two men on a two-wheeler hurled a country bomb at Anna Salai in the city.

The accused surrendered in Madurai were identified as S Kamarudheen (30), V Rajasekar (28), B Prasanth (25) and B John alias Johnson (30) — all from Tondiarpet. They appeared before judge Muthuraman and were remanded in judicial custody till March 11 and lodged in Madurai Central Prison.


Meanwhile, the investigating team in the city said that they were not aware of the names of the persons surrendered in the court. An official said that they were still searching for the suspects and have apprehended a few for interrogation. The police are yet to trace the car which was targetted by the bike-borne attackers.


Sambo Senthil, another crime accused, who is said to have hatched the attack is also yet to be traced.
