Taxmen visit actor Vijay’s house 2nd time in a month

Officials from the Income Tax Department visited actor Vijay’s house at Panaiyur off East Coast Road again on Thursday. Though the second round of visits to actor’s house in a month created a flutter, Income Tax sources said that this time the taxmen went there to verify certain documents kept locked by the investigators during their earlier search and also to lift the prohibitory order.

The earlier raid was carried out in connection with the actor’s earnings from his last move Bigil. I-T sources clarified that it was not a raid or search. After completing last month’s search, taxmen had sealed certain rooms, draws and lockers. Those seals were removed as part of lifting the prohibitory order.

It may be recalled that a few days ago, the Income Tax investigators had questioned Lalith Kumar, co-producer of the actor’s current movie Master in connection with certain financial transaction.

It may be recalled that the sleuths could not find anything significant during the I-T searches carried out at Vijay’ residences last time, while they had seized Rs 77 crore cash and gold from the premises belonging to film financiers. Taxmen reaching the shooting spot of Master in Neyveli and bringing the actor to Chennai had attracted a lot of media attention.
