While the humble milk sweet is a household name, combining it with a sweet bun has got many curious. A trip to the Sellam Milk Depot located at the end of the Mint Street shows that there are quite a few takers for this unique combination. Coming to the dish, the palkova bun is made by smearing a good amount of runny palkova mixture between two halves of a sweet bun. The palkova is made so runny that it gets absorbed into the bun. Even though one might be sceptical to try it at first, the sweet bun and the palkova ease their way to please one’s taste buds. Priced at Rs 25, the store also sells malai buns and gulkand (rose petal jam used in paan) buns. Besides these, their gulab jamuns are also hot sellers.
