“In view of the advisories issued regarding Coronavirus pandemic, the authority decided to adjourn the hearing of all complaints scheduled for hearing from March 19 to April 9. Rescheduled dates of the hearing will be communicated later,” TNRERA circular said.
The circular added that the complainants in need of urgent hearing should apply to the Administrative Officer of TNRERA. The complaints would be listed for hearing if the authority is satisfied with the reason.
Meanwhile, Tamil Nadu Real Estate Appellate Tribunal (TNREAT) also postponed hearings that are scheduled from March 19 onwards.
“All the hearing will remain suspended for three weeks. Urgent matters if any, need alone to be mentioned and necessary permission obtained for moving the same on every Tuesday for the next three weeks,” TNREAT circular said.
However, the office of the Appellate Tribunal would function as usual with necessary precautions. Advocates and parties have been advised not to come to the office or the court unnecessarily.
