Of the 53 personnel, 27 are from administration wing, while the rest are from headquarters wing. Some of the staff in the rank of the superintendent to office assistant have not reported for work from March 23 even before the State government announced the lockdown in a measure to combat COVID-19. Condemning the ‘ignorant act’ on part of the ministerial staff, the show cause notice directs all 53 staff to appear before the Deputy Commissioner concerned for an explanation, failing which action would be initiated against them.

Similarly, in another order issued on behalf of the Commissioner, it has been highlighted that some of the ministerial staff, who should be part of the first batch to report to the office from March 30 to April 5, have been irregular to work. They have been advised to report to work on all days to avoid departmental action. Ministerial staff were divided into two batches to work during the curfew period. The second batch will report to work from April 6.
