“The Koyambedu vegetable market, the hub of vegetables and fruits for Chennai, is manned and managed by 50 Home Guard volunteers from 4 am daily. The crowd regulation and social distancing at all the ration shops across Chennai is also taken care of by our teams,” said Sanjay Bhansali.

The Home Guards are also distributing Kabasura Kudineer, procured from IMPCOPS, to 500 people daily.

“The herbal drink and biscuits were distributed to the stranded public and corporation workers two days ago at Broadway Bus Stand near High Court and Central Station,” he claimed.

Food packets are also being provided to 150 to 200 poor people who visit the camp set up
