I honestly don’t know how I am dealing with this shutdown. It’s crazy, and it’s overwhelming at times. I don’t have any set method that I follow but what I do are all the activities I have wanted to do for a long time. My stressbusters are baking and working out. Sometimes I’ll work out twice a day because I have the time and energy. Baking is also something I have been meaning to do for a long time, but never got the time to do it. Now, there’s no excuse. I will be moving out of the country for higher studies at the end of this year -- if there is no travel ban then. So it is a great time for me to spend time with family. We play games and watch TV together. We have also finished a bottle of gin in just a week. My brother came back from the States before the shutdown, so now we have time to spend with each other. He’s helping me with my college stuff, too. My mother is the person I go to when everything gets overwhelming. I’ll just sit in the room with her, and she knows I’m getting stressed and anxious, and so we’ll just chat and I’ll feel so much better. It’s a terrible situation, with so many uncertainties, but the best way to cope for me is to look at silver linings, and believe that we can get out of this together.
