Police to hold rangoli, art contests for women, kids
The Tamil Nadu police, which hogged the limelight for arresting women for drawing kolams as part of CAA protest a few months ago, are now asking women to participate in their online Rangoli contest during lockdown to win prizes.

The contest is an initiative by TN police Crime Against Women and Children division and the theme is ‘Go Corona, Go’. Entries can be mailed to TNPolice. rangolicontest@gmail.com till May 3.
One participant can make only one Rangoli sized 3ftx3ft. Contestants should take a picture and mail it to the id. As many as six people from each district can win prizes. All prizes will be delivered to your home, a communication from the TN police said.
Intensity, colour combination and detailing are some of the items that will be judged.
However, getting rangoli powder to draw the kolams during the lockdown is the participants’ responsibility.
The same division is also conducting an art contest for children.
For those aged between 4 and 10, the theme is ‘My family during corona’ and for those aged between 10 and 16, it is ‘Our everyday heroes’. Entries should reach TNPolice.artcontest@gmail.com before May 3.
