Chief Minister lays stone for Tidel park near Avadi, houses for FEFSI members

Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami, on Monday, laid foundation stone for a new TIDEL park to be constructed at a cost of Rs 235 crore in Pattabiram, near Avadi.

The TIDEL park would be setup on a 10-acre site with a floor space of 5.57 lakh sqft. The 21-storey building will feature state-of-the-art facilities and will house technically advanced offices and amenities,” said the Chief Minister, after laying the foundation stone through video conferencing.

The Chief Minister also laid foundation stone for the construction of 1,000 houses for film technicians, enrolled with FEFSI, at Paiyanur in Chengalpet district. The State government has allotted 50 acres for construction of 6,000 houses and in the first phase 1,000 houses will be built and handed over to the technicians.

Along with COVID-19 works, the State government had commenced its routine developmental activities in the fifth phase of lockdown that will go on till June 30. The focus of the State government is on developing the northern regions of Chennai.

“TIDEL park that is functioning in southern Chennai had brought development to areas in south Chennai. Similarly, the one to be constructed in Pattabiram will bring development to northern part of Chennai by bringing ancillary industries and providing direct employment to atleast 25,000 youth,” said Palaniswami.
