Son stuck in Bengaluru amid lockdown, father goes missing
A techie from Chromepet, who was not able to visit his 63-year-old father living alone in the city after being stuck in Bengaluru due to the lockdown, is now searching for him after he disappeared from his house on Friday.
Chennai
“I was planning to come to Chennai for my monthly visit to see him when the lockdown was imposed. After my father, VS Subramanian, failed to attend calls and relatives said that he was not at home since last Friday, I rushed to Chennai after getting an e-pass,” said Karthik, who reached here on Monday.
The Chitlapalkam police registered an FIR on Tuesday.
“My father has occasional memory related issues. But he had been leading systematic life. A shopkeeper in Tambaram said he saw a man who looks like my father,” Karthik Narayanan told DT Next.
Karthik is not sure if his father is drifting without direction or walked away on his own due to lockdown frustration. “Some of his daily use items like toothbrush and paste are missing. I don’t know if he took it with him or somebody had taken it along with him,” he added.
Anyone with information about the missing man can contact Karthik at 9677374393.
