Moreover, this is the time when most of the Chennaiites plan getaways to escape the summer heat. Considering how this lockdown has put on hold the travel plans, siblings Hitansh and Khushil Shah developed an app called MusicalDrive. The app will give a virtual drive experience through different Indian and international cities. “After lockdown 2.0, we realised that the lockdown isn’t going to end soon in many places. Our father Vyomesh suggested we create something virtually. While talking to our friends, they were reminiscing about their trips to the UK, the US, and even many places in India. So, we decided to create an app that will give people the experience of riding around various major Indian and international cities while listening to music by sitting at the comfort of home,” says Hitansh, one of the co-creators of MusicalDrive app.

The duo says that the web-app is user-friendly and can be downloaded on any device. “The user can select any city of their choice. You can listen to various genres of music including the old 70s, AR Rahman hits, English rap and hip-hop. If you’re missing the street noise then you can also turn that on, while listening to music and enjoying the car ride,” Khushil pitches in.

Hitansh tells that they received a great response for the app since its launch. “We recieved beautiful responses from people living in India as well as those in foreign countries. Many messaged us saying their homes were present in the video. A few NRIs informed us they were feeling nostalgic about their childhood in India with their families after having a virtual drive of their native cities,” smiles Hitansh.
