The deceased, Anisha Fatima of Rajapalayam in Virudhunagar, was staying in Pozhichalur along with her mother and elder brother. Her father Mohamed Gori, who was an Assistant Commissioner of the Police, had died in a road accident in 2011.

It was a year ago that Anisha, who was interested to become a pilot from her childhood days, joined a private training institute in Odisha. On Monday, while undergoing the regular training, her twin-seater aircraft lost control and crashed. The trainer aircraft crashed on the tarmac at the Government Aviation Training Institute (GATI) at Birasala soon after taking off. Her trainer Sanjay Kumar Jha, who was with her, also died in the incident.

Sources said the body was to be taken to Anisha’s native place in Rajapalayam. However, for want of transportation on Tuesday night, the body was brought to Chennai and buried in a local cemetery.
