According to a Chennai Corporation official, the mobile teams have arrived at the city on Friday from other districts. “Doctors and paramedic staff from other districts have been sent to the city. The teams will visit vulnerable locations to identify persons with COVID-19 symptoms and treat minor health issues,” the official said.

More than 170 mobile teams have been allocated to the city. Zones like Royapuram, Tondiarpet, Kodambakkam and others that are worst affected by the disease would be given priority while sending the mobile teams.

Already the civic body is operating 100 fever camps in the slum areas, containment zones and other vulnerable spots. Residents with symptoms, who are identified by door-to-door survey, are being referred to the fever camps. The doctors at the camps would test the persons and recommend further testing if they suspect COVID-19 infection.

Chennai Corporation has also placed orders for two lakh Arsenic Album Homeopathy medicine and Hydroxychloroquine (HCQ) tablets will be given to frontline workers as per the ICMR recommendation.
