148 Indians, 50 Koreans arrive on special flights

As many as 148 Indians from New Zeland, Singapore and South Korea and 50 Koreans working with a private car unit in Sriperumbudur arrived at the airport here on Thursday night.

The flight from New Zeland arrived with 50 Indians via Delhi and Thiruvananthapuram. The passengers, after finishing all checkup formalities, were taken to the special quarantine camps. While two passengers chose the free stay facility in Melakotaiyur and rest of them proceeded to paid hotels. The second flight had 80 Indians from Singapore. All the passengers, after completing the COVID-19 swab test and the Customs and Immigration checkup, were taken to various hotels in the city as all of them had opted for paid quarantine facility.

As many as 50 Koreans and 18 Indians constituted the 68 passengers that arrived on the third special flight from South Korea. The Korean nationals are employees of a private car company which is functioning in Sriperumbudur. All 50 of them were taken to Sriperumbudur on special vehicles.

Of the 18 Indians, 11 were from Andhra Pradesh and were sent to their hometown in a special vehicle while the remaining seven were taken to a hotel in the city for quarantine. Sources said that COVID sbab tests for all the 68 passengers will be conducted at their hotels.
