The Commissioner said that preparatory works were on for the initiative and the phone number would be shared with the public in the coming days. “I will interact with the public via video call thrice a week to listen to their grievances,” said the officer. The initiative would help people redress grievances without venturing out, which poses the risk of being exposed to the virus. “I think it is possible to do the needful through video conferencing and take suitable follow up action,” he added. Aggarwal said that he was concerned about the welfare of the 20,000 police personnel of the Greater Chennai Police, and added that the public should strictly follow advisories. Meanwhile, outgoing Commissioner AK Viswanathan advised the personnel to handle the public in a responsible and friendly manner.
