The police have launched a hunt for the duo. According to officials, there are six children in the home. A 17-year-old orphan, who was allegedly involved in a number of crimes, was admitted there to improve his behaviour. However, on Sunday, with the help of the 10-year-old boy, he unscrewed the latch of the door and both of them escaped. The 10-year-old boy, a Class 4 student, was rescued by the railway police in 2019, as his mother was into begging. RG Anand of National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) visited the home and conducted an inquiry. A formal complaint has been lodged at Tiruvallur Town police station.
