Samuel Rozario from Alwin Memorial Public School, in Selaiyur had scored centum in four of the five subjects. Even as the board did not release a merit list this year, Samuel, who scored centum in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology, said his ambition is to become a doctor to serve the poor, especially in Tamil Nadu. “I am preparing for NEET very well to secure a medical seat here,” he claimed.

Sujatha Venkatesh, a Commerce student from Vels Vidyashram, Pallavaram, who secured 495 out of 500, said that good results were due to best training received from her teachers. “Since I got very good coaching, I did not join any private tuition. I studied well and secured good marks,” she said. Last year, Chennai region had secured the second position after Thiruvananthapuram.
