TN sees a new peak in recovered cases inspite of Covid surge: 4743 discharged
The reported Covid cases in the state for the past 24 hours, stands above 4K for the second consecutive day.

As many as 4,526 people tested positive for coronavirus in Tamil Nadu over the past 24 hours, taking the total to 1,47,324, the State Health Department on Tuesday. This is the second consecutive day that the state sees a surge of cases above 4K.
But on the positive side, there is a huge hike in the number of discharges. According to the bulletin released by the health department, 4,743 people got cured and discharged today.
Sixty seven fatalities pushed the death count to 2,099, it was said in the bulletin.
In Chennai, a total of 1,078 people have tested positive.
The capital city has seen a huge improvement in its recovery cases from coronavirus with the percentage of recovery at 77, reported the health department.
Total number of infected people in Chennai is 78,573 of which 60,694 have been completely recovered and sent home.
Barring only 277 fatalities of the 16,601 still in treatment, the deaths amount only to a bare 1.6 percent giving Chennai a reason to celebrate in its tussle against the contagion.
