The month of Adi is the next month after the Amman Temple Festivals. During the month of August, crowds of people flock to the shop streets as textiles and household items as they can be bought at discounted prices.

Despite the announcement of a curfew this year due to the Corona pandemic, the easing of small shops to large stores has been echoed. Adi month was born yesterday to commemorate the discount in this position. This in turn has led to the announcement of a discount in stores. In Chennai, a strike was announced at textile shops in Thiyagaraya Nagar, Perambur, Washermenpet, Purasaivakkam and Mylapore.

Accordingly, various attractive discount announcements were announced such as one shirt is free if you buy another shirt and another saree is free if you buy one saree and so on. Shops selling electronics and home appliances, such as textile shops, have jumped on the bandwagon.
