Realtor hacked to death at home in Ambattur
A 45-year-old man was hacked to death in front of his house by a four-member gang in Ambattur on Wednesday morning. The deceased R Veeramani of Athipattu was a real estate broker and police suspect that he could have been killed due to previous business rivalry.

The incident happened around 9.30 am when Veeramani was standing in front of his house on 8th Cross Street on Mettu Theru. Four men, who reached the spot in an autorickshaw, brutally attacked Veeramani with deadly weapons and fled the spot. Shocked family members and neighbours rushed him to the nearby hospital, but he was declared brought dead.
Estate police retrieved his body and sent it for post-mortem to Kilpuak Medical College Hospital. A case has been registered and a hunt has been launched for the suspects with the help of CCTV footage.
Man murders second wife at MKB Nagar
In another incident on Tuesday night, a 31-year-old man murdered his wife suspecting her of infidelity at MKB Nagar and surrendered at local police station.
The accused, Charles Rajkumar of the same locality, got separated from his first wife a few years ago and got married to one Ramani (35) of Vyasarpadi last year. However, since he suspected Ramani of infidelity, the couple often quarrelled after which Ramani went to stay with her mother.
On Tuesday, Charles compromised with Ramani and brought her home. However, a quarrel erupted between them and Charles in a fit of rage stabbed her with a kitchen knife repeatedly on her neck and killed her.
Later, he went to the MKB Nagar police station with the knife and surrendered. A team from the station rushed to his house and retrieved Ramani’s body for post-mortem. Charles was remanded in judicial custody on Wednesday.
