Based on a complaint from Vinay Sarawagi, the associate executive editor of the TV channel, Maridhas, in his video blog, has posted a fake email claiming to be sent by the complainant in which it was falsely claimed that the management of the channel has accepted the allegations made by the vlogger and also that the primary enquiry has found the allegation that the channel is ‘actively pursuing anti-Hindu agenda’.
The Cyber Crime FIR, however, has not named Maridhas as accused, instead said the creator of fake email id is the accused.
Vinay Sarawagi also made it clear that the said mail was not sent by him. “The said email arising out of the Proton mail does not belong to me and I was not aware of the existence of such a mail,” the channel official said.
The Cyber Crime has registered the case under three IPC sections, including for forgery along with provisions of the IT Act.
Meanwhile, a magistrate court in Egmore granted CCB sleuths the custody of YouTuber Senthil Vasan, part of Karuppar Kootam, to inquire in their custody for four days on Friday. The cops earlier arrested YouTuber Surendran Natarajan and two others for uploading videos about Kandha Sashti Kavacham.
