However, Suriya Devi posted a video on Sunday afternoon claiming that she did not go into hiding and said that she can quarantine herself. She has also raised suspicion about her test results in the nine minute-long video, in which she also coughs in between her talks. The police arrested her on Thursday and produced her before the magistrate after subjecting her to COVID test. While she was granted bail without being remanded, the results declared on Saturday confirmed that she was COVID positive.
While the Corporation officials went to her house, it was found locked. The Corporation officials alerted the Vadapalani police and a hunt has been launched for her. The police contacted her and told her that she could spread the virus to her own children and others if she is careless.
In the latest video, Suriya Devi alleged that she was harassed by the police in the name of investigation and added that she will not rest till Vanitha Vijayakumar is arrested. All-women police inspector Renugadevi who arrested Suriya Devi has also been tested positive and has self-quarantined at home.
