All the Deputy Commissioners of Police will hear the grievances of the public through video call every Tuesday and Friday for an hour between 12 pm and 1 pm, according to a press release. It may be noted that in police districts such as Washermenpet, Adyar and Anna Nagar, the initiative is already functional.

There are at least 10 police stations in each police district and people living in the jurisdiction of any of police station that come under a police district can air their grievances with the Deputy Commissioner concerned.

People can send their names and the number they want to be called on and the preferred date (it should be a Tuesday or Thursday) to the phone number and they would get a callback.

Also, changes have been made to the Commissioner’s meeting with the public over video calls. “Public are requested to give a brief of their grievances through WhatsApp message on the already provided mobile number 63691-00100. After scrutiny, the video call will be arranged with the Commissioner of Police in relevant matters. All other matters will be referred to the Deputy Commissioner of the jurisdiction concerned,” said the release.
