The 46-second video posted on its official Twitter handle (@ chennaicorp) mocked people for not wearing masks and violating social distancing . In the video, an animated image of the virus was seen jumping out from the sky and introducing itself as corona. “My name is corona. I am going to attack you all,” it said. After 10 seconds, it started dancing and singing, “Go corona, go corona go, go corona go corona go.” It then stopped abruptly and said, “Yeah, I am scared,” and added, “I won’t go if you sing songs like this.”

The animated coronavirus in the Corporation video also advises the public on the do’s and don’ts, and says: “If you follow all instructions, I will not attack you. Otherwise (threatening grunt). What do you prefer.”
It may be noted that hilarious video clips of persons rallying on streets carrying fire torches and chanting “go corona go corona go” went viral on the social media a few months ago.
But, in this video, the persons violated social distancing norms and rallied on the streets in groups as they chanted the slogan.
However, later in the evening, the civic body posted another video clip featuring the same animated virus but removing the “go corona go” part.
When asked, an official said videos are intended to create awareness only.
