19 more succumb to coronavirus, 11,983 active cases in Chennai
While the recovery rate has improved throughout the month, the city is registering an increase in daily fatalities.

The latest reports said that around 19 people have died in Chennai since Monday night.
The highest toll was reported in Rajiv Gandhi Hospital where 9 patients died. Omanthoorar Govt Hospital and Kilpauk Hospital reported the demise of 4 and three patients respectively while private hospitals in Thousand Lights area, Nandambakkam and Porur reported the death of one patient at each facility.
Meanwhile, the state capital reported 11,983 active cases.
According to the Chennai Corporation data, the recovery rate has been increasing for the past month.
The data said that as of Tuesday morning, the recovery rate has improved to around 86.2%, with a total of 88,826 recoveries out of 1,02,985 cases. 2,176 deaths have been reported in Chennai.
According to data released by the Greater Chennai Corporation, Kodambakkam zone is worst-hit among the 15 zones. It has the most number of corona positive patients seeking treatment while second most affected zone Royapuram has a higher number of recovered persons than other zones.
In Royapuram, as many as 10,334 persons have recovered, which is a 90 percent recovery rate.
