Police bust drug racket, arrest 2 with crystal meth
Pulianthope police have arrested two men in possession of crystal methamphetamine drug and seized 17 sachets from them.

The accused were identified as S Manojkumar (30) of Kannikapuram and Mohammed Rafiq (30) of Triplicane. The seized drug comes to 11 grams and is valued at Rs 35,000. Apart from the drug, Rs 30,000 in cash and two computer monitors were seized from them.
Based on a tip-off, Pulianthope police searched a pan shop on Pulianthope high road and seized 17 sachets. The shop owner Manojkumar was secured and based on his information, Rafiq was picked up for interrogation.
Police said Rafiq smuggled one kilo of the drug from Bengaluru, Goa as well as from Malaysia and Myanmar before lockdown for about Rs 9 lakh and sold it in small quantities to the tune of Rs 12 lakh over a period. The duo was remanded in judicial custody.
Meanwhile, Kilpauk police arrested two men and seized 500 grams of ganja from them. K Kathiravan (25) of Nerkundram and P Vijayakumar (23) of Tiruverkadu were caught redhanded when they were peddling the banned substance on Halls Road. They were remanded in judicial custody.
