RGGGH staffer diverts tablets for drug abuse, six racketeers held
Police have busted a drug network in Adyar and arrested six persons after taking leads from a duo nabbed in chain-snatching incidents. As many as 130 Nitrazepam tablets which they had kept for sale as drug abuse were seized from them. Nitrazepam tablets are normally prescribed for insomnia.

Police also seized six mobile phones and a two-wheeler from the accused, identified as J Dinesh (25) of Kilpauk, M Deenadayalan (56) of Ayanavaram, S Moinudeen (20) of Triplicane, S Rahim (20) of Ice House, S Syub Hussain of Panaiyur, and Solomon.
Police first arrested Dinesh and Deenadayalan in connection with a chain-snatching case on September 3 with the help of CCTV footage. While questioning them, police came to know they were part of a bigger network who sold tablets for drug abuse in Tiruvanmiyur and Sastri Nagar. Police said Solomon, employed in Rajiv Gandhi Government General Hospital (RGGGH), was responsible to supply drugs from the main pharmacy to various OP units in the hospital. Misusing his position, he stole Nitrazepam tablets and sold them to the gang.
