Cops foil bid to rob ATM near Urapakkam
Police are searching for the unidentified men who tried to rob an ATM kiosk near Urapakkam in the wee hours of Friday.

Police said the robbers, using a cutting machine, tried to break open the machine at SBI kiosk near GST Road in Urapakkam. On Friday early morning, the security staff who were monitoring the CCTV at the SBI head office noticed unidentified men cutting the machine and informed Guduvanchery police station.
Police said the robbers had damaged all the CCTV cameras and alarm before they started breaking the machine. After noticing police arrival, the gang escaped from the spot. Police found that they had damaged the hard disk of the CCTV cameras.
However, police said they are trying to identify the robbers with the help of the video which is recorded in the SBI control room. Police sources said there was nearly 11 lakh cash inside the machine. The police have registered a case and further inquiry is on.
