Dussehra: High Court to remain closed for 10 days
In view of Dussehra holidays from October 17 to October 27, the Madras High Court will remain closed. Vacation courts will function at its principal seat in Madras and its bench in Madurai on October 22 to dispose of urgent matters.

High Court Registrar General C Kumarappan said in a notification that application of urgent matters should be presented along with the papers to the vacation officers on October 20.
The method of hearing of cases being followed now in the Madras High Court (principal seat and Madurai bench) will be applicable for the Dussehra holidays sitting, 2020, he said. The notification added that lower court bail order should be enclosed along with the petitions for bail pleas.
Justice V Parthiban, Justice P Velmurugan, Justice G Jayachandran, Justice GR Swaminathan, Justice PT Asha and Justice C Saravarian will sit at the principal seat while Justice K Kalyanasundaram and Justice Abdul Quddhose will sit at Madurai bench as vacation judges to dispose of urgent matters, the notification said.
