Is it 'time to lead' for Vijay? SA Chandrasekar answers

Kollywood A-lister 'Thalapathy' Vijay's father and notable veteran director SA Chandrasekar has said Vijay's welfare organisation will revamped to a political party when necessary.

Answering to a question by press he said that there is no question of him joining the BJP.

This isn't however the first time that actor Vijay's name taken in a political vein.

There have been numerous instances beginning from Vijay meeting Rahul Gandhi during his Vettaikkaran film was on floors in 2009.

He has been voicing for Cauvery water issue, Tamil Eelam issue; he had visited families of Sterlite shooting victims and Anitha who died of suicide after failing in NEET.

However, he kept denying his entry in politics and kept saying his fan club would involve in welfare activities.

The political storm that his film Thalaivaa had to bear in 2013 made him more vocal, social messages became a must-have in his films since then.

Actor Vijay who is commonly known as a man of few words, took political potshots at parties in audio launch events of his films, his films thereby bore the brunt of 'political vendetta' as his fans allege.

SA Chandrasekar's announcement now gains particular importance because of the upcoming Tamil Nadu state assembly elections in 2021.
