COVID info kiosks in crowded areas

Health Secretary J Radhakrishnan on Saturday urged public health deputy directors to set up COVID information kiosks in crowded areas like main shopping complexes and bus stands.

To prevent corona spread during the festival season, the Health Department, in coordination with local bodies and police should set up information kiosks to sensitise the public on COVID prevention guidelines, Radhakrishnan said in a note to district health officials. He also said that the public should be reminded about the importance of wearing masks. The note also pointed out that coronavirus was registering a second wave infection in Europe due to relaxations. The kiosk should have health pamphlets, thermal scanners, pulse oximeters to assist the public in crowded areas, the Health Secretary added.
