With Sunday’s count, Chennai currently has 7,005 active cases and 3,662 persons have died so far. The positivity rate also came down to less than 7 per cent despite the civic body testing more than 10,000 persons every day. As on Saturday, among the 15 zones of the Chennai Corporation, Anna Nagar and Kodambakkam have reported the most number of cases with 21,802 and 21,579 positive cases. The containment measures will continue for at least three more months,” the official added.
On the other hand, data released by the civic body on Sunday mentioned that the city has only 4 containment zones. Of the four containment zones, 3 were in Manali and 1 in Sholinganallur.
