The transit warrant was obtained from a magistrate court in Agra on Friday afternoon. From there, the accused are being taken to Delhi by road on Friday night, and would be brought to Chennai by flight, said a police official. They would be produced in a court in Chennai and remanded in judicial custody and will be lodged in Puzhal prison by Saturday night, the official noted.

Sources said the accused would be taken into custody for a detailed interrogation later. The other three accomplices in the case, including Kailash, another brother of Jayalmala, are being questioned in police custody.

Jayamala, her brothers and their three accomplices are accused in the killing of her husband Sheetal, and his parents Dali Chand and Pushpa Bhai, on November 10 afternoon in the latter’s residence in Sowcarpet. The three victims were shot dead at close range.

The investigation team managed to trace the car in which they travelled, and nabbed Kailash and two others last Friday near Pune, from where Jayamala’s family hails. The two families were at loggerheads over a matrimonial dispute for about a year after Jayamala left her husband’s house with her daughters.
