New city cafe aims to create a community of gamers

Whenever Sujit passed by Valluvar Kottam, he used to see a long queue of people waiting for their turn to enter the US Biometric Centre. That’s when he hit upon the idea of opening a cafe nearby, to help visitors relax a bit.

When he shared this idea, with his friends Manoj, Harry and Prakash, one of them suggested starting a gaming centre as well. And that’s how Huzzle was born.

“This gaming cafe is for all the PS4 and 5 game lovers in the city. Even people visiting US Biometric Centre can come to the cafe to relax and also play games. People were cooped up at home for almost eight months without socialising. During this period, a lot of games entered the market. We wanted to bring all PS4 and 5 gamers together and build a community,” Sujit shares enthusiastically.

There are mainly two categories of video gaming — PC and console gaming. Huzzle focuses on console gaming — console games will have images and sounds generated by a video game console and it will be displayed on a television. Srinivasan Prakash, who is in the gaming industry for the past 15 years, manages the newly opened gaming cafe.

He explains, "There is a reason why we only offer console games. When it comes to clubbing kind of experience in gaming, console games are the most preferred than PC games. We are providing console game experience to people belonging to different age groups. There are games for a 6-year-old and even a 60-year-old. People usually play board games, carroms, chess, play station, etc, at home. Huzzle aims to create a community of console gamers. When they come here, they will get to know each other and can discuss their gaming experiences. Gamers can also share their views about a particular game. For eg, if an individual is a racing game enthusiast, he/she can meet other racing game players at Huzzle."

The team is getting a good response from avid gamers across Chennai.

"Some people call to ask about the services that we provide, while some inquire about gaming in detail. To get more footfalls, we are planning to start gaming tournaments.

The first tourney will be held this weekend. We are finalising the rules and regulations," chips in Sujit
