Passengers Coming From London Being Quarantined At The Chennai Airport: WATCH VIDEO

The Ministry of Civil Aviation has announced that passengers coming from the UK through flights till Tuesday midnight would be tested for COVID-19 on arrival at airports "as a measure of abundant precaution", after which the UK flights are temporarily banned.

The Indians who arrived from London are asked to be in quarantine for 14 days on Monday since the second wave of COVID-19 started in London.

The Indian government suspended the flight service to London to prevent the virus from spreading. Following that the eight passengers who arrived at the Chennai airport from London on Monday night were handed over to the health department officials. 

Sources said the government are arranging quarantine camp for them and all the passengers were asked to be in quarantine for 14 days and they are allowed to go home after the COVID test which would be taken at the end of the quarantine period. 

The health department secretary J Radhakrishnan visited the Chennai airport and monitored the arrangements which were done in the Chennai airport.
