Accepting the affidavit in support of the memo filed by Ilayaraja agreeing to withdraw a related civil suit, two other criminal complaints and staking no claim for damages, Justice N Satish Kumar appointed advocate V Lakshminarayanan as the advocate commissioner to accompany Ilayaraja during his visit to the studio.
The judge on allowing three other persons to accompany Ilayaraja, which includes two music assistants, also made it clear that while entering the premises, if any altercation arises, the grievances have to be passed only through the advocate commissioner and no personal exchange can be made.
Also observing that the parties have agreed to bury their differences and have no claims against each other, Justice Satish Kumar allowed the Advocate Commissioner to extend the time by an hour if required to take stock of the equipment and transport the same. The judge also directed the Greater Chennai Commissioner of Police to provide adequate police protection.
“I am not a person who will go back on my word. The entire Indian film industry will stand testimony to this. In fact, out of almost 1,000 movies for which I had scored music, contracts were signed only for less than 100 movies,” Ilayaraja had submitted in his affidavit affirming no further row with Prasad Labs.
Interestingly, Justice Suresh Kumar, during the hearing, noted: “Even if both the parties were not keen on resolving the issue, I would have done it.
