Nearly 13k benefit from 55 mini-clinics in city
Around 13,000 patients visited the 55 mini-clinics that are functioning now. Greater Chennai Corporation is yet to inaugurate 145 more mini-clinics in the city.

According to Chennai Corporation data, as many as 12,921 out-patients visited the clinics, of which 2,722 visited four clinics in Tondiarpet zone.
Based on a State government order, the civic body set up mini-clinics at Chennai Corporation buildings, including division offices, community centres and others.
The first mini-clinic in the city was opened on December 14. The data shows that as many as 1,218 out-patients visited the clinics on January 1 alone. Among the 55 clinics that are functioning, as many as 1,407 patients visited the clinic at old MLA office in Vyasarpadi in Tondiarpet zone.
The civic body has appointed medical officers (doctors), nurses and a worker for the clinics and they would function from 9 am to 11 am and 4 pm to 7 pm. Also, the government has instructed the civic body to set up the clinics close to areas where a large number of construction workers and migrant labourers live.
The civic body plans one mini-clinic in each of the 200 divisions. Meanwhile, the data also suggests that more number of patients visited the clinics between 9 am to 11 am (7,000). As many as 5,866 persons visited the clinics between 4 pm to 7 pm.
