Rajinikanth's statement came against the backdrop of the silent protest, which was organised by his fans and certain cadres of Rajini Makkal Mandram on Sunday at Valluvarkottam demanding the actor to revert his decision and come to the politics.
Thanking his fans for maintaining peace, the actor, however, said, "At the same time, it also gives pain that the demonstrations were held against the wishes of the leadership."
Also, thanking his followers, who have not participated in the protest as per the wishes of the leadership, Rajinikanth said, "I have clearly explained my reasons for staying out of politics at this point of time. Hence, please do not organise such protest requesting me to change my decision as it would hurt me even more, he added.
