DRI officials already raided the house in Kolapakkam.

On Saturday, about 10 NIA officials searched the premises once again, which led to the seizure of three laptops. The entire search was videographed, said sources. A diary which was retrieved from the house allegedly had certain code words that indicated smuggling of the drug to Coimbatore, but it has to be probed.

NIA had taken over the case from DRI suspecting terror links. The heroin shipment originated from Afghanistan and was shipped to Gujarat from Iran’s Bandar Abbas port. The GST number used for the consignment belongs to a company registered in Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh. It was later found that Sudhakar’s wife Vaishali had taken the GST registration last year using her mother Govindaraju Taraka’s address. Vaishali had also taken an import and export licence from the Director General of Foreign Trade (DGFT).
