Multiple sexual assault cases registered under Pocso in city

Chennai: While visiting the girls, he took the elder kid in his car on Tuesday and dropped her back a few hours later. The next day, when her mother asked about the day she spent with her dad, the child disclosed abuse. The police arrested the father under Pocso and remanded him in judicial custody on Thursday.

In another incident, the Pulianthope all-women police arrested a 47-year-old school teacher on Wednesday for sexual assault. The abuse was revealed when Child Welfare Committee members spoke to the survivor after she was admitted in the hospital for an illness.

Similarly, the Ayanavaram all-women police arrested a 21-year-old for sexual assaulting a 15-year-old and sharing their photos on social media. The perpetrator, hailing from Tiruvallur, befriended the girl during train trips and assaulted her on the promise of marriage. Since he also posted their photos on social media, Ayanavaram police registered a case under Pocso based on a complaint from parents.

Meanwhile, Guindy all-women police arrested a 35-year-old man for sexually assaulting the minor daughters of his partner. Police said that the accused lived with the mother and misbehaved with her daughters when she was out for work. He was remanded on Wednesday.
