Thirumagan Everaa succumbs to cardiac arrest at 46
Thirumagan Evera was understood to have complained of breathing difficulty this morning. He was rushed to a private hospital, where he was declared dead.
CHENNAI: Sitting Congress MLA and senior Congress leader EVKS Elangovan’s son, Thirumagan Everaa (46) died allegedly due to illness on Wednesday.
Everaa is said to have succumbed to massive cardiac arrest in his native Erode this morning. Everaa is understood to have complained of breathing difficulty this morning following he was rushed to a private hospital where he was declared dead.
Chief Minister M K Stalin and other state leaders condoled the demise of the debutant MLA elected from Erode East constituency in the 2021 Assembly polls. Expressing shock and inconsolable sadness at the demise of the alliance party MLA’s demise, Stalin, in a statement released wednesday afternoon, said, “Everaa had won the affection of everyone (in the Assembly) through his calm and responsible demeanours and respect for senior members in the House.”
Stating that his memory of the enthusiastic face of Everaa who brought his daughter a month ago following her victory in equestrian championship at the national-level was afresh, the CM offered his condolences to the bereaved family members of Everaa and Congress workers in Erode for the demise of the MLA who belongs to a family of a rich political tradition consisting his grandfather EVK Sampath and father EVKS Elangovan.
Calling Everaa as an enthusiastic youth, who subscribed to progressive ideas and traversed on the path laid down by his father EVKS Elangovan and worked well in the party, Tamil Nadu Congress Committee (TNCC) president K S Alagiri said that Everaa discharged his duty of disseminating the ideas of the Congress party in the party’s social media wing well.
Alagiri described the death of the 46-year-old MLA as an irreparable loss to the party. Congress legislature party leader K Selvaperunthagai, in his condolence statement, said that Everaa mingled with everyone without considering the rich political heritage of his family as a pride
