IPL 2024: SRH wins by 67 runs against DC

CHENNAI: Sunrisers Hyderabad secured its fifth victory of the season by defeating the Delhi Capitals by 67 runs on Saturday at the Arun Jaitley Stadium. 

The SRH batters went all in from the start as they posted the highest ever runs scored in the powerplay by scoring 125 runs. Travis Head smashed joint fastest fifty in just 16 balls. He was partnered alongside Abhishek Sharma who got out after smashing 46 runs off just 12 balls (2x4, 6x6).

Kuldeep Yadav was the one changed the course of the game by picking 4 wickets. The wicket of Travis Head, who smashed 11 fours and 6 sixes, slowed down the run rate.

In the end, Shahbaz Ahmed smashed 59 runs with five sixes and two boundaries to help SRH cross the 250-run mark.

Chasing a mammoth target of 267, The opener Prithvi Shaw smacked four boundaries off the first four balls of the innings, but his effort to make it five in a row didn't work in his favour as the ball found the hands of Abdul Samad to give Washington Sundar his first wicket.

Rishabh Pant stayed at the crease till the end for DC, scoring 44 runs (5x4,1x6) off 35 balls, in the middle stint of the game after Abhishek Porel's dismissal. But the home team were all out for 199 runs with five balls to spare.
