Home Décor: Ceilings to give your room ‘top of the world’ feel
Right from the time the Sistine Chapel was built, masons knew the importance of ceilings. Domes were ornate, and ceilings were covered with beautiful art by the likes of Michelangelo.

Nothing adds personality to your interior quite like a stunning ceiling. Here are a few creative ways to get a gorgeous top side.
Having spent the last six years furnishing multiple homes, the founders Amrita Thomas Modi (Architect & Interior Designer) & Arjun Thomas (Product Specialist), realized that while finding a good couch was challenging enough, it was next to impossible to customize them further. Through www. createyourcouch.com - an online furniture venture, the client becomes a designer. With elegant designs and unique fabrics, the duo encourages you to create beautiful pieces of furniture for your home.
Coffered ceilings: A coffered ceiling is a pattern of recesses in the overhead surface of an interior. Coffered ceilings call attention to themselves with their intricacy. While some coffered ceilings make the room look larger, some can result in a boxed-in feel if you’re not careful. Coffered ceilings work well in formal rooms, such as a dining room with a chandelier in the centre.
Industrial Décor: If you have high ceilings, an industrial décor really works wonders. Exposed concrete beams or steel trusses adorn your ceiling, give it a very raw yet uber cool look. Make sure the rest of the space is neutral so that these elements stand out.
Rustic roofs: Nothing spells rustic more than a wooden rafter ceiling. You can go ultra rustic by using a completely wooden traditional ceiling, or even use wooden rafters against a plain white ceiling for a more modern touch. This is the perfect solution for a family room, to give you that feeling of warmth.
Murals: Murals are essentially paintings or a work of art that is executed onto a wall or in this case a ceiling. They are an expensive proposition no doubt, as it’s labour intensive, but look fabulous. Another option is to use wallpaper, as a number of options are available today to give the same effect, at a much more reasonable cost. It is very important to keep your walls white or neutral so that this fabulous ceiling gets the attention it deserves!
Metallics matter: Gold and silver leafing done on your ceilings looks absolutely stunning. Ideally, this concept looks good in formal rooms like your living room or your dining room. A puja room with gold leaf ceilings looks brilliant as well. If you find this a bit heavy on your pocket, you get metallic paints or wallpapers that give a similar look.
