Mind, Body & Soul: ‘Health is not just important but essential’
Today access to any information is at the tip of our fingers, figuratively and literally. But one should understand ‘knowing is not doing’. The self-satisfaction one derives from the feeling of just ‘knowing’ and the accumulation of information is great but illusive at best.

Haven’t we all heard everybody lamenting that the world is no more safe and healthy? We all want a better place to live, after all it’s the only planet we have. But let’s not take responsibility to change the world but just be responsible to change ourselves.
It’s not about self realisation. No, not at all. Begin simple; with your ‘physical health’ which is the first and foremost requirement for every individual. Knowledge of the entire universe, every happiness, joy and emotion can only be experienced in this body. It’s the living temple and the only abode to experience the divine too. It’s time to realise irrespective of one’s knowledge, past experience, present ability, power or future fortune, one can gift whatever he wants to his loved ones but not health. If we do not realise that ‘health is not just important but essential’, then we humans are planning to fail or failing to plan a great future.
Let’s begin to follow the simple, yet powerful and practical self-discipline called ‘It’s more, so, no-more’. Rather than taking great efforts to develop good habits like regular exercise, a fat free diet and meditation; let’s at least begin with conscious conditioning of saying ‘It’s more so, no-more’ to all prevailing self-destructive and unhealthy habits. Like eating that extra piece of chocolate or sweet just because it feels delicious, smoking an extra drag just because you know to smoke, drinking an extra sip of spirit just because you can afford a drink and so on. This will change your life for a healthy future. With no further delay or discussion, let’s start creating a beautiful life not by doing something new but by undoing the unwanted.
Remember, every miracle is possible not by learning new good things but by practicing the good things you know with commitment. This will bring inevitable positive change in oneself and the world. Aham Brahasmi!!
