Tell us about this year’s festive collection and its significance

Lladro unveils a new porcelain figure of a god or goddess every year around the festival time. Like in 2015, we unveiled a porcelain figure of Goddess Saraswati, this year festive Collection for 2016 has Lord Shiva and Goddess Lakshmi (smaller avatar). It takes atleast a year of painstaking hard-work to bring these porcelains to life and requires dedicated time and skills. Our earlier offerings of Lakshmi, Ganesha and Krishna, among others, have been extremely popular and we hope the new collection also strikes a chord.

Any particular reason that Lladro chooses to unveil its Indian collection around the festive season?

Yes, we love to spend the most around this time of the year, when we have one festival after other starting from Ganesh Chaturthi, Dussehra and then Diwali. The porcelains Ganesha, Lakshmi, Saraswati and other figures become ideal gifts for the season. From individuals to corporates, everybody is willing to spend more during this time of the year.
