Ideal workout to get back to shape post Diwali
As everyone knows Deepavali is a festival of lights, celebrations and sweets. It’s very difficult to stay away from the enticing delicacies without feeling guilty. So go ahead, enjoy your sweets and other Deepavali delicacies.

How do you go about it?
- Reduce your sugar intake on daily food. Consume lots of warm fluids.
- Eat a lot of green, vegetables, salads and keep it fresh.
- Exercise cardio-vascular training everyday which you might have missed because of the festival (i.e.) walk, jog, swim, cycle and dance.
- Do not starve yourself, because if the body goes into starvation mode, it will start storing fat and use it as a source of energy. Eat six small meals a day.
- When you start your workout, start by doing 30 mins daily for a week. Soon you will find yourself getting back to form.
Your ideal workout:
- 30 mins of cardio vascular workout
- 5 mins warm-up
- 3 mins running at 6.5 to 7.5 kms per hour.
- 1 min running at 9.5 kms per hour.
- 1 min cool down.
- Repeat the same three times.
Strength routine:
- Pushups - 5 to 15 reps.
- Squats - 5 to 15 reps.
- Pull ups - 5 to 15 reps.
- Lunges - 5 to 15 reps.
- Burpies - 5 to 15 reps.
- Repeat the same sets 3 times.
- Stretch yourself and relax.
