If you are a true blue fan of electronic music, the Sunburn Arena is surely earmarked in your calendars, much in advance. The music festival will have the popular DJ Snake perform with our very own Nucleya.
It will be held on February 19 at VGP Beach Resort on East Coast Road and is organised by Global Sound, a property of Sparkkz. For the first time, the Sunburn Arena will travel to cities outside of cities like Mumbai, Delhi and Bengaluru.
“Our goal is to showcase electronic music and work more on promoting great deal of artists from various countries and to feed the community artistically and to give promising artists a platform to share their work,” says, Jagadish, Chairman of Sparkkz Event Management.
DJ Snake, who is of French origin is at the forefront of the trap music movement, having taken the genre to the charts with his 2013 single Turn Down for What featuring Lil Jon. He has also worked as a producer on Lady Gaga’s album, Born this Way. His work on the album helped secure a Grammy nomination in 2012.
Since then, DJ Snake has collaborated with artists like Kanye West, AlunaGeorge, Skrillex, and Diplo. DJ Snake is not a complete stranger to India. His collaboration with Major Lazer for Lean On was shot in Mumbai.
“A massive stage of about 40 feet will be erected along with LED walls and state-of-the-art audio lighting equipment will be in place. The venue will be barricaded all around and the gates will be manned by security along with volunteers and bouncers present everywhere ensuring the safety and security of all the patrons,” adds Jagadish.
DJ Snake is also looking forward to performing in India. “India is a special place and it’s always wonderful coming back (he performed at Sunburn festival in 2015). I’m looking forward to exploring new cities and cultures. I’ve been to every country in the world, but I’ve never seen a country like India. The sights, sounds and the colours are very exclusive. I want to make the most of this trip here by exploring the country as much as I can. I cannot wait to collaborate with artistes of various genres of Indian music,” said DJ Snake in a statement.
