Oviya quits Bigg Boss? Fans in shock

Rumours were afloat that the actress had attempted suicide on the sets while the show was live. Tension began when police visited the sets of Bigg Boss on Friday evening. 

Sources told DTNext, “The actress wanted to leave the show and went into depression on Friday morning. Based on a call, Nazarethpet police visited the sets and was initially assured by the channel that things are intact on the sets of Bigg Boss.”

A representative from the channel confirmed that Oviya hasn't attempted suicide, but has left the show. When contacted the Nazarathpet police, they said that Oviya is already out of the show and flew back to Kochi on Friday night. “The actress herself booked a room at a hotel in the city before leaving to her hometown last night,” said the police. 

It is worth mentioniing that Oviya has amassed a loyal fan base for her straight-forward approach and is regarded as the only contestanat who is herself in the show. As this news broke out she has been trending on social media. 

Meanwhile, viewers of the show expressed disappointment at Oviya's ouster, with many stating that the actress was the only reason for them watching the show and that they would boycott it. There were also threats against the show’s host Kamal Haasan and the channel.

It is worth mentioning that the actress was undeniably the most popular contestant with specially dedicated fan pages, noted celebrities, and an 'Oviya Army' backing her. However, the usually cheerful contestant, showcased a rather eccentric side in the current week of the show, after another inmate, Aarav, started giving her a cold shoulder following the actress' admission that she had fallen in love with him. 

On Thursday's episode, when Aarav categorically said that he never loved her, and had always considered her a good friend, the actress furiously walked away before declaring that she didn’t want to be friends with him anymore, adding that he took advantage of her.

Oviya’s Twitter fans were abuzz, both supporting Oviya and threatening to boycott Bigg Boss, as soon as the news came out. One twitter user Archana R‏ wrote, “Oviya, we stand with you dear. You need time to heal, but you will bounce back,” while another user, @coolchap, pointed out “According to me, it is the mental asylum task that ruined the show and brought lots of issues on show. Shut up pannunga if no Oviya.”
