In the video, the girl is seen crying while her mother screams at her in order to make her study. The video, that has earned over 3.2 million views, ends in a disturbing way when the mother slaps her.
Several netizens, including cricketers Kohli, Yuvraj Singh and Shikhar Dhawan, shared the video urging parents to refrain from child abuse. But, justifying the abuse, Toshi wrote on social media, “It’s not a big issue. In every house there are different kinds of children. Ours is a very stubborn child but is extremely dear to us. One can’t judge a mother’s love for the child by seeing a short video. If children throw tantrums, then should we stop teaching them? It’s not easy to raise children.”
His comment has come under immense criticism with several social media users calling the family “insensitive” and that “nothing can justify child abuse”.
