Be a part of intimate gigs in town

Originating in London in 2009, after a group of people decided that there was too much noise at a local bar and they weren’t able to enjoy the music, it has now grown to over 370 countries. Chennai has its very own chapter too. While they prefer keeping things about events under wrap until the eleventh hour, Sofar has organised several secret gigs in the city — everywhere from people’s basements, furniture stores, boutiques and more. 

All you have to do to be a part of these gigs is sign up on their website and the group will get in touch. Members can either host a gig, attend a gig, or play at a gig. And if you’re just attending, you get to decide whether you’d like to pay at the end or just walk out at your convenience. Once a month, 36 hours before an event, you’ll get an e-mail. 

And the artistes performing will be a surprise. There’s a gig coming up on October 14, but we’re not telling you where! Hush hush!
